Golden Apple-Staff Award

Since working at Bellevue; I've (Amber Van Dis) had the honor to have a wonderful colleague and friend to work with in second grade. Kristi Latour came to Bellevue ready to give her all to this field. She had always wanted to be a teacher and was motivated to go above and beyond for her kids.
Kristi is a wonderful member of the second grade team. I appreciate our thoughtful planning and discussions of how to best meet the needs of our students. Kristi strives for excellence by reflecting, preparing, and implementing engaging lessons. When given a learning opportunity; Kristi is eager to implement best practices and resources.
Kristi prepares the writing unit's for our second graders. She spends many hours preparing and grading our student's work. Our students are eager and excited to receive an invite to The Publishing Party where they celebrate and share their work.
When you step into Kristi's classroom; there's a strong sense of community and caring amongst her students. She takes time to truly listen to her students. Kristi is often greeted with a hug and a smile. Her students truly listen to her students. Kristi takes pride in providing a safe, caring, clean, and organized place of learning for her students.
In addition to the many roles that teaching entails; she has also volunteered to be an active member of the The PBIS Team, March is Reading Month, and The Summer Reading Program. She is a caring and respectful staff member. She comes to each and every staff meeting ready to share, learn, and give her all. I am proud to award my friend, my colleague; Kristi Latour The Golden Apple Award.

Congratulations to Taylor Madry & Shawn Triestram

Taylor was nominated by Mr. Dreps: He said, "Taylor demonstrates responsibility every day she comes to class. Taylor was given a job at the beginning of the year. This job consisted of putting the cones out for after school pick up and monitoring the cross-walk. Without being told Taylor takes it upon herself to continue to perform her job."
Shawn was nominated by Mrs. Dye: She said, "Shawn is a student that always shows compassion for other students. Today he noticed that another student was sad because they didn't have a chair for read to self. He gave up his chair to cheer up the other child. This is just one example of Shawn being kind and thinking about others above himself."
